1. Blocket Tech Lead joins Tictail

Whoever said; Never mix business and pleasure obviously didn’t work at a web startup like Tictail. We’re a business, no doubt about it, but it’s personal. Hence growing from three to four is more than a big deal, it’s friendship in ink. That’s what this post is about.

Before going to San Francisco there were a lot of things to be done; we were launching a new intermediate site, our blog + our first store, Flying A Vintage. We were setting up the last few things for our trip, editing the last few frames of our “Getting Started Video” while still working full time at our old jobs.

After a few crazy weekends we pulled through with one single exception; we never got around to launch the jobs page we had been planning. No worries we thought - we’re not rushing any hires at this stage. Birk however threw in a small little easter egg in the code.

We didn’t think more about it but then one day we got an email, someone had found the snippet in the code and decided to give us a shout out! It was a small thing but the impact would be huge. You see, that someone was called Siavash and would in the following weeks become the trending topic in the Tictail office.

Currently employed as a tech lead at Blocket, Siavash is a killer developer with a love for design. He studied Product Development and Design at KTH and is among other things the inventor of Lilqr

We met up for coffee, lunch, dinner, late night hackathons and some more coffee. We shared a bottle of wine, our opinions and got to know each other.

A week ago we extended an offer to Siavash to join the Tictail journey as a partner and as a friend.

As you by this time understand Siavash accepted the offer and will join the Tictail adventure on full time in the beginning of september.

Siavash, we couldn’t be happier or more proud to have you! Welcome onboard partner!
